Field Representative Program

The FCF Field Representative Program was designed to support FCF members and private exotic feline ownership. This is accomplished by providing a network for training members to interact with legislators and media persons on 3 fronts: the local, state and federal levels.

The USA is divided into 6 regions with Regional Directors. The Regional Directors guide the State Representatives in their areas. The State Representatives are responsible for organizing state working groups within their state to increase local involvement in exotic feline related issues.

This program is designed to give FCF members an opportunity to be involved on a grassroots level on legislation, promotion, and general exchange of knowledge for exotic felines.

FCF State representatives stay informed on proposed and pending state legislation and notify and involve others in their state of such legislation. They represent FCF on a state level and act as an official FCF contact in live appearances or media interviews.

FCF State Representatives develop working relationships with their state legislators, and this valuable knowledge is shared with FCF members and the other State Representatives and Regional Directors.

In Federal arenas that affect the ability for FCF members to possess felids or conduct captive management programs, the State Representatives coordinate with Regional Directors and the national FCF Legislation Director to supplement the FCF position.

The Regional Director program works to find answers that resolve specific issues while also supporting the ability for good owners to continue to care for their felines, and to protect the ability for future generations to engage in captive husbandry in a manner that is consistent with the specific community environment.
